Our Story

Friendly, by definition.

Amical means “friendly” in French — and that's exactly how we want you to feel when you walk through our doors. We opened in downtown Traverse City in 1994, serving French-inspired dishes with beautiful views of West Grand Traverse Bay.

Three decades on, our food goes far beyond French cuisine. Our menu is creative and global, built on fresh, local meats and produce, served with friendly, attentive care in a cozy, vibrant room that makes everyone feel at home.

Whether you're a regular or visiting for the first time, we can't wait to welcome you.

The Cookbook Dinner Series

Once a month, our kitchen picks a cookbook — and cooks its way through it for an entire week. A beloved tradition for more than twenty years, the series has carried our guests through over 150 cookbooks and nearly one thousand recipes from around the world.

It's the reason our menu never stops evolving — and the best excuse we know to try something you've never tasted before.
